Process & Operation

OK, you’ve received your quotation and want to go ahead with Watford Keyholding as your primary keyholder. The initial stages and our standard operating procedures are described here.

The Paperwork

 The first stage of our service is to send an experienced surveyor to your premises to carry out a detailed assessment of your location and specific requirements.

Next is the formulation of your “site instructions”. Through consultation with you, these instructions act as an operational guide for our staff for when they undertake a full patrol and deal with any occurrences they might find.

Once this paperwork has been completed, all of this information is placed on our secure systems and your client reference number is generated. Finally, you will need to inform your alarm company or receiving centre that Watford Keyholding is now your primary keyholder and pass over our contact details.

On Alarm Activation…

Should an alarm be activated, we will deploy a mobile officer to attend your premises. Upon arrival, he will carry out an inspection of your site’s perimeter and enter if is safe to do so.

Once inside the building, the officer will then identify the cause of the problem and deal with it accordingly. A full report will be generated and left on your premises for your attention. You will normally receive a call from us the next working day to discuss the call-out.

In the Event…

If there has been a break-in or an attempted break-in, the Police will be called immediately. You will then be contacted and kept fully up-to-date by telephone as the situation progresses. You may then choose to attend the site to take charge, or we can arrange for emergency short-term repairs to re-secure your premises once the Police have completed their investigation.

If an issue with your alarm system arises that cannot be resolved by one of our officers, we will contact the alarm company to send an out-of-hours engineer to rectify the problem. Again, a report will be generated and left for your attention along with report from the alarm engineer.

At each stage you can choose who we contact and under what circumstance. Some customers prefer to be informed whenever there has been an activation others are happy for us to deal with the entire situation and speak to us the next day (we do prefer to contact someone in the case of a confirmed break-in and it may be a requirement of your insurance that we do so).
